Numb: Simon Amstell Live At The BBC
9.30pm, BBC4 31/12/12
This one-off stand-up special is a performance of Simon's Amstell's stand-up show, 'Numb', which he toured to sell-out audiences around the UK and Ireland in 2012 as well as Australia and more recently, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.
Recorded specially for BBC4 at TV Centre, it's a stripped-down, intimate performance, with no set and minimal lighting; a painfully raw, honest and deeply funny exploration of disconnection and loneliness.
"The real deal. where philosophy collides with anxiety: where Heidegger meets Woody Allen" - The Guardian
"Painfully funny" - Evening Standard
"One of the most elegant, articulate, sensitive and endearing proponents of 'Soul Comedy’ that there is" - The Scotsman
Presented by Mick Perrin for Just for Laughs Live
